Any day now...?

Well, according to the doctor as of yesterday morning, we will have this baby within the next week. I have progressed to a point where most first time mothers would already be in labor...I just keep wondering when it will actually start hurting and when we will have to go to the hospital. Because of this news we decided it was time to really try to finish up the wall. We have finished everything except: A--Deanna will do. F-Maria will do. G-my parents and N-Patrick and Keri. We have one space that we will get everyone who helped paint to sign their names...or we will write our baby's name and birthday, etc. on. This is yet to be determined. We are sort of sitting around twiddling our thumbs. So if anyone knows any great games for two people...please share them! We will keep you all posted with baby news and pictures when the time comes!

O Tennenbaum!

Today we decorated our very cold Christmas tree. I could see my breath underneath it. So far this post might be called "boring", so I will liven it up with this fact: Anne will probably not be pregnant any more sometime in the next three weeks! I'm not due until February.

Thanksmas

Last week we flew to North Carolina and we surprised Patrick, Keri and Will with a visit. We had thought that I couldn't fly due to the fact that it was 5 1/2 weeks from our due date, but no one said anything and I even had a doctor's note! We were able to spend some time with family and see our new little nephew...who by the way is REALLY cute! Will doesn't really like bathtime, but he does like to take long naps and eat pretty much all the time. Jonathan tried out a snuggly, and Will decided to peak out at the world. With much convincing we got everyone to smile AND pose for a family picture. Hooray for Thanksmas!

Festivus Eve...

Our party this afternoon had little to do with the actual celebration of Festivus - but it had a lot to do with family meeting friends and anticipating our daughter's arrival.

We picked out an idea - a kind of painted quilt of the alphabet to paint onto a wall of our nursery; each person could choose a letter and a picture (hopefully related!).

Anne and I provided red beans and rice, and mushroom barley soup, and everyone else brought deserts and drinks. We ate well; a fitting end to a week of eating.

Of course, you can see, the art is beautiful. We discussed many different combinations: C for cigarette, U for Urinal...as you can see it's turning out fantastically. Plus, we've got leftovers...

Babies Room...

For those of you who are coming to our "Festivus Eve" party this is a copy of our inspiration for our nursery wall. You can start brainstorming what sort of animal you would like to draw/paint for your letter. Or you can just use what is here! Hope to see you all on Sunday!

Baby Shower

Here are some pictures from the baby shower that my co-workers threw for me last Thursday. We have Tristen, Janet and Pam enjoying a nice margarita after a long days work.

I was very blessed by their generosity and thoughtfulness. Caitlyn, to my right just recently announced she is due in June! Hooray for babies!

And here we have Wendy, who threw the shower and a nice
shot of my belly at 34 weeks! Things are going well with the pregnancy...I am just feeling large and in charge. I am looking forward to the five day weekend this weekend, sitting back, relaxing and eating some yummy food!

32 weeks...8 to go...

Well, here is the belly update. It continues to grow. This past week a student from my French I class said to me, "Hey fat lady!" I was shocked and offended. Then I thought well, he is a freshman boy who doesn't know any better. Then that night I saw the mom of one of my students who said, "Hey Chubby!" My inside thought was, "At least I have a good excuse." (But even in the psycho-ness of being pregnant and saying whatever I think, I managed to kept that thought in!) The next day at school two of my students said, "Mrs. Capp we think you are the cutest pregnant lady, you should always be pregnant. You can't even tell you are pregnant from behind." Then one of them said, "I love your belly!"

So, besides feeling like a "fat lady" and being pretty worn out most of the time, things are going well. We got to meet our friends', Tom and Mindy, baby this week. He was born on Monday AM, and is cute as can be. When we met him, I thought, "Oh yeah, it really is worth it!"

The new entertainment of the belly, is "Guess that body part"! We can't tell the difference between her head and her butt, but her little feet and knees are pretty easy to distinguish.

My brother, Patrick, and his wife, Keri, are due any day now. We can't wait to meet that little nephew of ours.

I officially outweigh my husband?!

Well, I went to the Doctor today for my gestational diabetes test, and as routine I got on the scale. I was sad and sort of horrified that I now outweigh Jonathan by 1 pound. The other sad/horrifying part of this realization is that I still have 11.5 weeks to go...I wonder how much more I will outweigh him by?! Oh, well at least I have a good reason!

Baby Shower

The fishing gear Laurel's dad, Larry, gave to Jonathan!

The quilt Jonathan's mom made.

A beautiful afternoon in late September!

Chocolate fountain....

The table of delicious food!

Our freshly painted nursery---Thanks to Dad and Jonathan!

We just wanted to say Thanks Laurel, Sarah, Maria, and Julie who helped plan the baby shower and for the lovely gifts we received. We are truly blessed by all of our wonderful friends and family! I think having a baby shower makes the growing belly seem like it really will be a real live baby in the not so far away future!

The 25 Belly Update

Here is the belly update for 25 weeks. We found out that we are going to have a new nephew or niece from Gordon and Kristin!!! Hooray! Cousins all around!

25 Weeks--Our Beautiful Baby Girl

Here is her foot, to me her big toe looks huge. Jonathan thinks she is going to have big feet!

Here is another profile of our baby. The bubble is her umbilical cord. The Lab technician said she has nice "Chubby Cheeks"!

This is her face. You can see the bridge of her nose and her eyes!
I think you can also see a leg in this picture.

We had another ultra sound today because at the last one the Dr. was afraid I might have placenta previa. So, today they checked and said that the minimum amount they like to see is 2 cm, and mine was 3 cm! So, We don't have to worry about that!

At one point during the ultrasound our baby started opening and closing her mouth and I think sticking out her tongue. She also was playing with the top of her head, which was pretty darn cute! The technician also kept saying that she was cooperating really well with what pictures she needed...I hope that is a forecast of our baby's temperament!

My right armpit

Well...let me tell you about my right armpit. I do believe I have overactive sweat glands. Today while teaching my French I's I looked down and realized that I had about 3 + inches of sweat just hanging out on my shirt. Gross, huh? All of the high schoolers were very kind and said nothing about it...at least not where I could hear them. Then I looked at my left armpit...nothing! Why does my right armpit sweat so profusely? I guess this is just one thing that keeps me humble and reminded that I am human and yes I do sweat!

Belly update

Here is a belly update at 20 weeks, and after drinking 32 ounces of water. I think it is starting to look like I am pregnant instead of just a little chubby around the middle!

Gender Capp

We went to the doctor today and we found out we are having a baby GIRL!!!! This picture is of her legs, and as you can see there is nothing there...which means it's a girl! We also decided she has really long legs. You can see her knees are bent and she looks like she is upside down!

This is a picture of her foot, you can see the little bones in it. You can also see the umbilical cord in this picture. If you cock your head to the left you can see the toes, they are at the tallest point of the picture. I am pretty sure that is her left foot.

Here is a profile picture of her sucking her thumb! The bubbly looking things are her umbilical cord.

Jonathan thinks that she has the "Rogers" nose, which would be mine, my mom's and her side of the family...we'll just have to see!

Ounce for Ounce

This morning we are participating in the oz. for oz. challenge. Anne had to drink 32oz of water 45 min before our ultrasound appointment, and she is not allowed to go to the bathroom. I'm in it for moral and bladder support.

Next post: gender capp

Bellies...

I hope you can tell which belly houses a baby. We're just now figuring it out.

Stringbean aka Butterbean

This is a picture of stringbean...or perhaps butterbean may be more appropriate since all of the Garrison babies tend to be a bit large. Anyway, here is "butterbean" at 8.5 weeks. We are now 16 weeks along, so I guess that the baby has doubled in size. It is hard to believe that such a small thing can control soooo much of your life. I've been told, "just wait".
